The KFC Poutine
My Rating = 2/10
The KFC Poutine is, hmmmmm. How can I put this nicely?..Interesting? No! It’s pretty much the dullest tasting poutine I have ever had. The “curd” is really odd. It almost looks like they melted some kind of cheese substitute and dotted it around the poutine. The Fries and Gravy were okay, they probably would have been better without the cheese though.
The fries were a little soggy, which shouldnt really happen. They almost tasted like when you get fries and you save them for later and then you try to microwave them after. It was not good.
I have always enjoyed the taste of the gravy at KFC. But it is chicken gravy, so it doesn’t work that well with the poutine situation.
I ate about half of it, I couldnt finish the rest and ended up having to throw it out :(
I really hate to throw out any poutine, but this was simply not good.

SilverCity Poutine
Not going to fully review this one because it was just an “I want a poutine and it’s on the menu, moment” It was everything you expect from a movie theater poutine, not very good. The fries were too cripsy, gravy was ’okay’ and then the curd was obviously from a bag kept in a stock room somewhere :S
You can deffs skip this one.
This is not my photo, I took it off Google but this is exactly what it looks like.

The Bubba’s Poutine

This was a general poutine. If you find yourself wandering and you all of a sudden want a poutine you could come here and get it. I’m not trying to be “….rude” here. Anyways let’s get on with the categories.

French Fries : Tasted like they were prepared from a frozen state. I’m not sure how long they were in the freezer but I could taste the freezer atmosphere. ‘nuff said.

Gravy: Typical beef gravy, tasted like it was straight from the can. There’s nothing wrong with using a canned gravy as a base, just make it your own. Add your own spices and put a little personality in there.

Curd: Curd was pretty good. Probably the only thing I can’t really complain about here.

Presentation : On a very thick styrofoam plate. Good Idea for the amount of Gravy that was on there.

Over all taste: Nothing special. Just your average, everyday, run of the mill french fries cheese and gravy, poutine.

Customer Service: The woman behind the counter was very nice, and bubbly. Small talk about the weather. Service with a smile.

Price: $6.00

So again this poutine was okay, I’ll give it a 5/10 just because it was nothing special but it was wayyy better than the chain restaraunt dealies.

The Smoke’s Poutineries Traditional Poutine

This poutine was great. My family loved it and I would definately recommend, if you are ever in kingston check out this place. It had a whole bunch of different styles of poutines but I just go for traditional.

French Fries : Perfectly Crispy and golden brown.

Curd: Fresh Montreal Curd, fresh curd is ideal. Local is even better. It had a real taste, light and awesome.

Gravy: Golden in colour with pepper and some other spices I can’t put my finger on, Real poutine gravy, not beef or some other kind of gravy.

Overall Taste: Fantastic, warm, not scolding hot. Hot Fries, Cold Curd, hot gravy. Awesome

Presentation : Great, love the little carton it came in.

Customer Service: The guy was really nice and helpful. Service with a Smile :)

Price: $6.00

This poutine was a nice change from most poutines I have sampled..The gravy was the kicker because it was what I thought, A real poutine gravy rather than a beef or chicken (-.-) Gravy.

Definately if you are in Kingston Ontario, Try out Smoke’s Poutinerie, you will not be disappointed. Even If traditionaly poutine isn’t your thing, they have a bunch of other varieties to choose from.

The K-Town Chip Stand Poutine

THIS. This poutine was really good. Chip truck poutines usually are so it wasn’t really suprising.

So I have decided to add Categories to how the Poutines will be judged;

French Fries, Gravy, Cheese, Overall Taste, Appearance, and Customer Service.

Fries : crispy and the perfect golden brown color, a little too salty for my liking.

Gravy : Excellent and no globs of gravy to get in the way.

Cheese : CURD! Amazing, and the curd wasn’t too salty either. :)

Overall Taste : Delicious. The gravy kind of helped even out the saltiness of the fries so it was really an enjoyable poutine. The curd was great, it was super stretchy ( which I love.) I would definately recomment this poutine to friends and family.

Customer Service : The woman who served us was the nicest person. She was very sweet and you could tell that she loves her job. She was very excited about her products and informed us about everything going on with the chip stand. And she even asked us what we thought of the poutine. She really cares.

Cost : $6.00

So my overall rating of The K-Town Chip Stand Poutine is 7.5/10

It would have been more but it was just the salt that threw me off.

hellsbellsareloud asked: Where are you from in Canada? I'm only new here in Toronto but the best poutine here by far is Poutini on Queen St West. Try the pulled pork. It won't be beaten

I live just outside toronto about 45 mins away. I’ll deffs try that when I get the chance

rawrmegatron-deactivated2011090 asked: I find it amusing that you think "poutine" and "queen" rhyme. are you american?

that’s cool. I’m canadian. I’m aware they don’t technically rhyme.

The Pepperwood Poutine——-My Rating=7.5/10
This poutine cost twice as much as a normal poutine. Assuming that the average poutine is around $6. It was interesting. It had some sort of roast beef in the gravy, it was good. But the fries were too thin for my liking, and either too soggy or too crispy. The taste was pretty good though, it was just the overall that was lacking.

The Montana’s Poutine—-My Rating=3/10
Not the worst poutine I ever ate but not the best either.
There isn’t really much to say about it. There was no personality. And NO CURD.
Nothing original.
The blob of gravy grossed me out a little too.
